How to use the SERP Snippet Preview

    1. Enter the page address, title and description. The preview updates as you type.
    2. Watch the width figures. If one turns red, the text will probably be cut with “…”.
    3. Shorten or reword until both fit, then copy the text into your page.

    Tips for better results

    • Put the most important words at the start of the title, because the end is the part that gets cut.
    • Wide letters (W, M) and capitals use more space than narrow ones, so a 60-character title can fit or not depending on its letters.
    • Write the description for people. Search engines often replace it with text from your page when they think it matches the search better.

    Limitations you should know about

    • This is an estimate. It uses Arial-like letter widths at the sizes Google has used, about 580 px for titles and 920 px for descriptions. Search engines change their layout and limits without notice, and phones differ from desktops.
    • The tool cannot know whether a search engine will use your text at all. It may rewrite titles and descriptions.
    • It does not check rankings, keywords or whether your page is indexed.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best title length?

There is no official number. Search results cut titles by width, roughly 580 pixels on desktop, which is often 50 to 60 characters. Check the preview for your own words.

Why is my description not shown in Google?

Search engines choose the snippet themselves. If your description does not match what someone searched for, they may show text from the page instead.

    Is my text uploaded?

No. The preview is calculated in your browser.
